The Summer’s Last Night is part of a mini collection “Memories”, which emphasises the ingrained Latvian memories from the times we tend to feel the closest to our hearts and romanticise. The painting thematically is a reference to the summer outdoors balls that were and are still common in Latvia and highly attended, although they have adapted to the current times. 

The Summer’s Last Night also tries to capture the feeling of being in the moment and enjoying the spare moments of relaxation during the fading summer’s days that will eventually lead to the autumn time and winter. 

Painting has been featured in the travelling exhibition “Fragments of Imagination” in:

• Stāmerienas castle (2026 May – autumn)
